About Full Art Pokémon Cards

What counts as a full art?

A full art card's artwork covers the whole card rather than sitting in a window, with a textured foil surface you can feel. In Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution sets these are the Ultra Rares, marked with two silver stars, and they include the full art Trainer (Supporter) cards that many collectors chase. In older sets the same style appears as Rare Ultra: full art V, VMAX, GX and Trainer cards.

Full arts sit between the regular ex and the Illustration Rares on price, which makes them a popular way to collect a favourite Pokémon or Trainer. In stock now: Gengar ex 193/162, Mega Lopunny & Jigglypuff-GX 225/236 and Leafeon V 166/203.

Delivery

Singles are sold raw and ungraded, every card is condition-checked before it ships, and they go anywhere in the UK for a flat £1.75, however many cards are in your order. Use In stock only to see what we can ship today. For artwork that fills the card with a full scene, see Illustration Rares and Special Illustration Rares.

Frequently asked questions

What is a full art Pokémon card?

A full art card has artwork covering the whole card instead of a framed picture, with a textured foil finish. In current sets they are the Ultra Rares (two silver stars); in Sword & Shield and Sun & Moon sets they are listed as Rare Ultra.

Are full art Trainer cards on this page?

Yes. Full art Supporter cards are printed as Ultra Rares (or Rare Ultra in older sets), so they appear here alongside the Pokémon. Trainer Gallery cards from Sword & Shield have their own page.

Is a full art the same as an Illustration Rare?

No. A full art shows a Pokémon ex, V or Trainer on a mostly plain textured background, while an Illustration Rare shows an ordinary Pokémon inside a full painted scene and carries a gold star.
