One Piece Card Game in the UK: Sets in Order, English vs Japanese, and Where to Start
The One Piece Card Game's main sets run in one numbered line: OP-01 Romance Dawn opened the English game in December 2022, and OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors arrives on 28 August 2026. Japanese sets have historically released three to five months ahead of English, though that gap is now down to a fortnight or less. And if you are starting fresh in the UK, the short answer is: buy a starter deck.

What are the One Piece Card Game sets in order?
Sixteen main English sets are on shelves, with the seventeenth days away. The game launched in Japan on 8 July 2022 and in English on 2 December 2022, and Bandai has kept up a steady rhythm of a new main set roughly every three months since:
- OP-01 Romance Dawn — December 2022
- OP-02 Paramount War — March 2023
- OP-03 Pillars of Strength — June 2023
- OP-04 Kingdoms of Intrigue — September 2023

When did the latest One Piece sets release?
The current set is OP-16 The Time of Battle, released in English on 12 June 2026, with OP-17 following on 28 August 2026. Here is the recent run at a glance:
| Set | Name | English release | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| OP-11 | A Fist of Divine Speed | 6 June 2025 | Available |
| OP-12 | Legacy of the Master | 22 August 2025 | Available |
| OP-13 | Carrying On His Will | 7 November 2025 | Available |
| OP-14 | The Azure Sea's Seven | 16 January 2026 | Available — includes half of EB-04 |
| OP-15 | Adventure on Kami's Island | 3 April 2026 | Available — includes the rest of EB-04 |
| OP-16 | The Time of Battle | 12 June 2026 | Current set |
| OP-17 | The World's Strongest Warriors | 28 August 2026 | Out this week |
One quirk worth knowing: OP-14 and OP-15 carry the English set codes OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04, because Bandai folded the Japanese extra booster EB-04 into both English releases rather than giving it a standalone one. That is also how the English schedule caught up with Japan's.
What are the EB extra boosters?
EB sets are smaller boosters that sit alongside the main line rather than in it — celebration and themed collections rather than full expansions. English players have had three standalone ones so far: EB-01 Memorial Collection (May 2024), EB-02 Anime 25th Collection (May 2025) and EB-03 One Piece Heroines Edition (February 2026), with a fourth — EB-05 One Piece Heroines Edition Vol.2 — officially listed for October 2026. EB-04 exists in Japanese but, as above, its English cards arrived inside OP-14 and OP-15 instead. You will find ours in the EB extra boosters collection.
Should you buy English or Japanese One Piece cards?
For playing in the UK, English; for collecting, either — and plenty of collectors end up with both. Japanese sets still release first, and for most of the game's life that head start was three to five months. It has shrunk fast: OP-16 launched in Japan on 30 May 2026 and in English on 12 June, just under a fortnight later.
The products differ too. English booster boxes hold 24 packs of 12 cards; Japanese boxes hold the same 24 packs, but typically with six cards in each. The cards play identically, though if you enter local events the English card pool is what everyone around the table will be using, so English is the sensible default for players. The trade-offs mirror the ones we cover in Japanese vs English Pokémon cards.
Iconic Trading Cards stocks both English and Japanese One Piece sealed product, so you can pick your lane — or hedge.
How do you start playing the One Piece Card Game in the UK?
Buy a starter deck — one each if two of you are learning together. Every starter deck contains a ready-built 51-card deck (a Leader plus 50 cards), ten DON!! cards and a playsheet, which is everything one player needs; the newest wave, ST-31 to ST-36, even tucks an OP-16 booster pack inside. Pick whichever Leader's crew or colour you actually like — you will play it more.
Once the rules click, add boosters from the current set — The Time of Battle as we write this — since the newest cards are the ones local players build around. UK delivery from Iconic Trading Cards is £3.95, free on orders over £50, and pre-orders are dispatched on or around the official release date.

What is coming next for One Piece?
OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors releases in English on 28 August 2026, six days after Japan — the closest the two schedules have ever been. It is built around the Elbaph arc and, per Bandai's previews, introduces the game's first manga-art Leader card. An EB-05 extra booster — One Piece Heroines Edition Vol.2 — is officially listed for October 2026, and if the pattern holds, the next main set lands roughly a quarter after OP-17, with Japan keeping a short head start.
Frequently asked questions
How many One Piece Card Game sets are there?
As of August 2026 there are sixteen main sets in English, from OP-01 Romance Dawn through OP-16 The Time of Battle, with the seventeenth — OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors — releasing on 28 August 2026. On top of those there are three standalone EB extra boosters and a long line of starter decks.
Do Japanese One Piece sets still come out before English ones?
Yes, but only just. The gap was three to five months for most of the game's life. OP-16 released in Japan on 30 May 2026 and in English on 12 June 2026, and OP-17's gap is six days. Bandai closed the difference by folding EB-04's cards into the English OP-14 and OP-15 releases.
Can I play with Japanese cards at UK events?
For casual games at home, absolutely — the cards function identically. For organised play, the English card pool is the standard in the UK, so check with your event organiser before sleeving Japanese copies. Most UK players keep Japanese cards for the binder rather than the deck.
What is the best One Piece starter deck for a beginner?
The one whose Leader you actually want to play — they are all built to teach the game. Each contains a ready-made 51-card deck, ten DON!! cards and a playsheet, and the ST-31 to ST-36 wave adds a bonus OP-16 booster pack. Two decks make a complete two-player setup.
How many cards are in a One Piece booster pack?
English packs contain 12 cards, and a full English booster box holds 24 packs. Japanese packs typically contain six cards, with the same 24 packs to a box.
What happened to EB-04?
It never got a standalone English release. Bandai split its cards between the English OP-14 (The Azure Sea's Seven) and OP-15 (Adventure on Kami's Island), whose set codes are OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04. That merge is how the English schedule caught up to within a fortnight of Japan's.
