Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture: UK release date, products and pre-order advice
Magic: The Gathering — Reality Fracture releases worldwide on Friday 2 October 2026, with prerelease events running from 25 September. It is a Standard-legal expansion built around Jace Beleren's "Echoverse", a rebuilt Multiverse without Phyrexians, Eldrazi or Bolas, and its headline gimmick is echoed pairs: every Play and Collector Booster contains two linked cards showing the same character living two different lives.

What is Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture?
Reality Fracture is the autumn 2026 Standard expansion, and it is a story set rather than a plane-of-the-month tour. Jace Beleren, damaged by the Phyrexian Invasion, has built a copy of the Multiverse with the horrors edited out — no Phyrexians, no Eldrazi, no Bolas — and it is bleeding into the real one. He no longer goes by Jace, either; Wizards' own Planeswalker's Guide has him calling himself "the Theorist", what is left after he carved away the parts of himself that disagreed with the plan. Much of it plays out on Echoverse Arcavios, at Hexhaven Academy.
The draw for long-time players is the return of the Lorwyn five, the original 2007 planeswalkers. Ajani, Liliana, Chandra and Garruk each get a warped Echoverse counterpart, and head designer Mark Rosewater has confirmed those counterparts appear in enemy colours — Chandra, for instance, moves from red to mono-blue. Jace is the one exception, since he is the one holding the mirror. You can browse current stock in our Magic: The Gathering collection, including the previous set in our Lorwyn Eclipsed range.
When does Reality Fracture release in the UK?
2 October 2026, the same day as everywhere else, with prerelease events at participating stores from 25 September to 1 October. Store Championships and Standard Showdown then run through to 5 November, with Commander Party weekends in mid and late October. The Secret Lair Bundle is the odd one out, expected around 23 October — treat that date as provisional until Wizards confirms it.
For where this sits against the rest of the autumn — and it is a crowded autumn — see our UK TCG release calendar.
How do echoed pairs work?
Every Play Booster and every Collector Booster contains an echoed pair: two cards, one from our Multiverse and one from the Echoverse, depicting the same character on two different paths. The borderless versions are the ones collectors will chase, because their artwork spans both cards to form a single continuous scene of two realities colliding — there are 15 such borderless pairs, or 30 cards, in the set.
Alongside them sit 13 shattered mirror cards, which get a "Facet foil" treatment designed to make the broken-reality shards catch the light. Collector Boosters also carry the set's serialised chase: Headliner cards numbered to 500, which Wizards states appear in under 1% of packs. Buy the product for the cards you want, not the lottery ticket.
What products are in the Reality Fracture line-up?
Wizards has confirmed the full lineup along with US MSRPs. The figures below are exactly as published — UK shelf prices will differ, and we have not converted them.
| Product | Contents | US MSRP |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster | 14 cards, including an echoed pair | $5.49 |
| Play Booster box | 30 Play Boosters | Not published |
| Collector Booster | 15 cards, premium treatments throughout | $26.99 |
| Collector Booster box | 12 Collector Boosters | Not published |
| Bundle | 9 Play Boosters, foil promo, 30 basic lands, spindown die, box | $57.99 |
| Draft Night | 12 Play Boosters, 1 Collector Booster, 90 lands, tokens | $89.99 |
| Secret Lair Bundle | 6 Play Boosters, 2 Collector Boosters, 2 foil promos, 20 foil tower lands | $89.99 |
| Multiverse Reforged Commander deck | 100-card four-colour Jace deck, 16 new cards | $49.99 |
| Foundations Commander decks (five) | 100-card mono-colour decks, tokens, box | $29.99 each |
| Prerelease Pack | 6 Play Boosters, foil promo, deck box, spindown die | Not published |
Note that there is only one set Commander deck this time — Multiverse Reforged, a four-colour deck led by a new Jace. The five Foundations decks launching alongside it (Calling All Angels, Keen Engineering, Wretched Ranks, Reign of Dragons and Tramplesaurus Rex) are single-colour, beginner-facing products rather than Reality Fracture decks. Ours appear in decks and kits as they land.
How much will Reality Fracture cost in the UK?
Honestly: nobody outside distribution knows yet. Wizards publishes US MSRPs, but UK RRPs come from distributors and typically arrive closer to release, so any UK figure circulating now is a retailer's guess. We would rather say "not confirmed" than invent a number you might budget against. Iconic Trading Cards lists confirmed UK prices on each product page as they are set, and if a price moves before dispatch, we tell you.
What we can tell you is the delivery maths: UK delivery is £3.95 and free over £50, which most sealed booster box orders will clear comfortably. Singles-only orders ship at a £1.75 flat rate.
Should you pre-order Reality Fracture?
If you want a Collector Booster box or a Draft Night box on release week, yes — those allocate tightly and rarely restock quickly. If you mainly want a few specific singles, no; wait two or three weeks after release, when Standard-set singles are typically cheapest and the hype has settled. Sealed Play Booster boxes sit in between: widely printed, rarely scarce, and no worse for waiting.
Pre-orders from Iconic Trading Cards are dispatched on or around the official release date, so a paid order arrives at launch rather than a fortnight later. Where an allocation is genuinely limited, it goes to our Iconic loyalty tier first and then to a free draw among email subscribers — entry costs nothing and there is no purchase required, so it is never a 9am checkout scramble. Watch pre-orders for Reality Fracture stock, and if you are weighing this against starting a different game, our guide to the best trading card games to collect is a fair place to start.
Frequently asked questions
When is Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture released in the UK?
Reality Fracture releases on Friday 2 October 2026, globally on the same day. Prerelease events run at participating stores from 25 September to 1 October 2026. Pre-orders from Iconic Trading Cards are dispatched on or around the official release date.
What are echoed pairs in Reality Fracture?
An echoed pair is two linked cards showing the same character in both realities — one from the known Multiverse, one from Jace’s Echoverse. Every Play Booster and Collector Booster contains a pair. The 15 borderless pairs are the collectors’ versions, with artwork that spans both cards to make a single continuous scene.
How much does a Reality Fracture booster box cost in the UK?
No UK RRP has been confirmed. Wizards of the Coast has published US MSRPs — $5.49 for a Play Booster and $26.99 for a Collector Booster — but UK prices are set by distributors and usually land closer to release. Any UK figure quoted this far out is an estimate, so treat it as one.
How many Commander decks come with Reality Fracture?
One: Multiverse Reforged, a 100-card four-colour deck led by a new Jace and containing 16 new cards, at $49.99 MSRP. Five mono-colour Foundations Commander decks launch alongside it at $29.99 each, but those are beginner-facing products rather than Reality Fracture decks.
Which planeswalkers are in Reality Fracture?
The original Lorwyn five return. Ajani, Liliana, Chandra and Garruk each get a warped Echoverse counterpart, and Mark Rosewater has confirmed those counterparts appear in enemy colours — Chandra shifts from red to mono-blue, for example. Jace is the exception, since the set’s story is built around his identity as the Theorist rather than a straightforward pair.
Should I pre-order Reality Fracture or wait?
Pre-order if you want a Collector Booster box or Draft Night box at launch, as those allocate tightly and restock slowly. Wait if you mainly want a handful of specific singles, which are typically cheapest two to three weeks after a Standard set releases. Play Booster boxes are widely printed and rarely become scarce, so there is little penalty in waiting.
